How to run a giveaway on Instagram or TikTok
- Publish the rules. What's being given away, who can join, how (comment, tag, follow the account), until when and how you'll notify the winner.
- Close entries at the time you announced and copy the comments or the list of participants.
- Paste them here , remove duplicates if your rules allow one entry per person and choose how many winners and alternates you want.
- Draw and announce it. A screenshot of the result or a screen recording makes the giveaway transparent.
Alternates are there in case the winner doesn't reply within your rules' deadline or doesn't meet the conditions: that way you don't need to repeat the draw.
Instagram and TikTok have rules for promotions: the rules must state that the network doesn't sponsor or run the giveaway, and you can't ask people to tag others in photos they're not in.

How do I get the Instagram comments?
Open the post in your computer's browser, expand all the comments, select and copy them. Paste them here: if each comment takes several lines, turn on «Keep only the @usernames».
Is the draw fair?
Yes. We use the browser's cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same one used to create passwords, and every participant has the same chance.
Can I remove people who commented several times?
Yes: with «Remove duplicates» each user counts only once even if they commented more. If your rules give one entry per comment, turn it off.
Is the list stored anywhere?
No. The list never leaves your browser: it isn't sent to any server.
