How engagement is calculated
The most common formula divides the average interactions per post by your followers:
Engagement = (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ posts ÷ followers × 100
If you add up the figures of several posts, enter how many in «Posts you're adding up» and the calculator gets the average. If you enter views, it also calculates engagement by views, which says more on TikTok and reels, because those videos reach many people who don't follow you.
What's a good engagement rate

These are general references: small accounts usually have higher rates than large ones, and each niche has its own range.

How is the engagement rate calculated?
You add up the interactions (likes, comments, shares and saves) of your latest posts, divide them by the number of posts and divide that average by your followers. The result, times one hundred, is the rate by followers.
What engagement rate is good?
It depends on size: small accounts usually have higher rates than large ones. As a general reference, less than 1% is low, between 1% and 3% is normal, between 3% and 6% is good and more than 6% is very high.
Is it calculated the same on TikTok?
On TikTok it's also useful to measure it by views, because videos reach many people who don't follow you. If you enter views, we calculate both rates.
How many posts should I use?
Between 6 and 12 recent posts give a stable figure. With just one, a viral or a weak video distorts it.
